Ice Skating at the Mennen Sports Arena
The William G. Mennen Sports Arena was built in 1973 on land donated by the Mennen Company. On Sunday, January 12, 1975 the William G. Mennen Sports Arena was officially opened to the public. Originally there was only one ice surface with permanent seating for 2,500 spectators.
In 1986, a second ice surface was completed. In 2002, a third ice surface was completed.
The arena is a full service ice center with skating year round. It offers public sessions, group lessons, hockey clinics, figure skating clubs and birthday party packages.
Non-ice activities include the Annual Shrine Circus, cat and dog shows, antique shows, craft shows, National Night Out, and other types of shows. The facility can be rented for meetings and conferences.

General Admission:
Monday through Sunday Mornings: 10 am to noon
Tuesday through Friday Afternoons: 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm (except from 12/3/08 - 2/25/09; No Wednesday 3:30-5:30 pm sessions in December & January)
Wednesday and Friday evenings: 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday and Sunday Afternoons: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Fee Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: $5.00 all ages
Wednesday morning and afternoon: $2.50
Saturdays, Sundays, Evenings and Holidays: $7.00 all ages
Skate Rentals (figure or hockey): $3.50 tax included

Whippany Railroad Museum is SOLD OUT for this Saturday (12/13) and this Sunday (12/14). Unfortunately, there are NO WALKUP TICKETS available at the ticket office this weekend.
However, they DO have tickets available for next weekend! Buy your advance tickets for December 20 or December 21 online by 11:59 PM on December 17:

Enjoy a Fun-Filled Holiday Train Ride through Morris County with Jolly Old Saint Nick! Climb aboard our Historic Diesel-powered Streamliner as it rolls along the The Whippanong Trail, the ancient pathway originally used by the Lenape Indians. Santa and his Elves will be on board greeting everyone and handing out Holiday treats for the kids.
Ride, schedule, equipment and ticket availability subject to change without notice. The excursion train consists of a historic Diesel locomotive and enclosed passenger coaches.
The Museum will be open from 12 Noon to 4 PM each day of operation. Admission (separate from train ride fare) is $1.00 per Adult and 50 cents per Child for the continual maintenance and restoration of our Museum building/grounds and exhibit collection. A Gift Shop is located within the Museum building. Light refreshments are available at the Museum's Snack Depot.
During the Christmas Season, you can enjoy the sight of our Historic Steam Locomotive No. 4039 posing as a giant, jolly Kris Kringle... be sure to bring your camera!
The Santa Claus Special and the Museum are staffed by an ALL-VOLUNTEER CREW. Proceeds from this event will go right back into our restoration projects. We appreciate your continued support of our Historic Preservation efforts.
